Thats the situation few weeks ago I format my pc and reinstall windows Xp......I tried to deactivate my game and when I activated again seems that I lost one of my activations. Ok thats ok, no problem......but tonight I was installing The vmware software just to test Vista and when return to my black shark on windows Xp......received this message.

The Activation Key is not valid any more due to significant changes of the computer hardware configuration. Press "Retry" to reactivate the application.

If the error recurs, press "Error report" and send the report to product technical support.

Any way to recover my old Activation key or I deserve to waiste another one?

Right now I´m Uninstalling that VMware crap from my system......developers please have mercy!!!

VMware seems to be view upon as "hardware change" yes - don't know why, since it's software only - but I assume somehow the DRM stores a checksum of the Network adapters (Vmware installs a few).

Now if thats the case - IMO thats just a bad design decision to evaluate the "sum" of network adapters - which are likely to change quite often.

Let's hope they can fix it in a later version.
