Runway visibilty

I am unsure if its me but i do find that airfield runways are notoriously difficult to visually identify.. ok not so much at midday and clear conditions but if dawn/dusk or murky conditions the runway lights don't seem bright enough or are even turned on... evben if going through comms procedure for landing.

Am i doing something wrong or can there be an option to improve visibilty of runways?

Can lights be turned on in game ??

I think runway visibility is generally decent, but there should be mission editor control to force lights on or off.
