Is there any way to create custom Jester keybinds?

I really would like to have a quick option to:

  1. drop tanks
  2. modify flares mode (pilot/single/multi)

Maybe with VoiceAttack? I just do not have any experience with programming functions there.

I use VAICOM as well, but the AIRIO extension is not allowed on certain MP servers.

You need to edit .lua to add some direct backseat control.

You can't add new jester direct keybinds even with .lua editting

If you are using voice attack, here is walkaround

Say 'jester drop tank'

Commands:

Press Jester menu(A) 2 times

Select tile 'Within Visual Range'

Select tile Drop tanks

You can assign tile shortcut, i use 1st tile-ctrl 1, 2nd tile-ctrl 2 . . .

Think voiceattack as voice commanded macro.

My example setting will be

Say drop tank

Press A 2 times

Press ctrl 3

Press ctrl 1

will command jester to drop tank

Both of those things have explicit commands to activate in VoiceAttack too.

I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too. 🙂

Do I understand your answers correctly: I can add some new backseat controls, but they will not be useable from the front seat?

Or could I just use existing backseat commands via .lua editing also from the front seat? What would I need to do?

Great, thx! I will try that as a walkaround as well!

You mean in VAICOM, right?

Yes, but those commands are integrated in the AIRIO module of VC, that breaks the integrity check on multiplayer servers and thus is not useable there.

Yes, I meant VAICOM. And yes, good point about MP, I hadn't thought about that, although I have used it on some servers, you're right most probably aren't going to let you use the AIRIO module in MP, but for SP, it's pretty straightforward.

You can add 'existing' F14RIO controls to F14PILOT control or in reverse.

ex)'Next launch' keybind on RIO keybinds can be added on PILOT keybinds.

'Master arm on' keybind on PILOT keybinds can be added on RIO keybinds

Some added RIO keybinds on PILOT won't work if it is related to jester controled functions(mostly radar related)

ex) azimuth scan volume, elevation bar added to pilot keybinds, those will not work unless jester is disabled

I recommend to use this mod if you are willing to edit keybinding lua.

It passes IC if used correctly.
