Gents,

Need some help trying to program some AI CAPs in the mission editor.  Nothing cosmic, just some basic ROE.  Here's what I am trying to do:

1.  Enemy AI CAP takes off and established in CAP - Got this part down, no issues

2.  Specific BLUEFOR group enters specific trigger zone.  For example, Viper flight enters trigger zone "VIPER CAP".

3.  Once the BLUEFOR enters, the enemy CAP starts hunting the VIPER flight down.

4.  I am also trying to get it to where specific RED CAP flights only target specific BLUEFOR flights.  For example a flight of MiG-21s only search and go after Viper Flight, and then a flight of MiG-29s only go after Panther flight.

Here's how I have it setup at the moment:

Under the "Triggered Actions" (next to Paylod) for the RED CAP flights I have "Search then engage group - Viper" for one example

Then under Triggers I set "ONCE", the condition is "Part of group in Zone - Viper", then the Action is "AI TASK PUSH", then I select the triggered action I set up before for that Enemy CAP flight.

I have tried to fly this and all the enemy CAP planes just fly their CAP and don't engage.  Also when they are engage, meaning I lock them up on radar, they also don't do any evasive maneuvering and are easy pickings.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong, or how to do it better??

Thanks!

Panic

ive see youre using "rookie" AI as skill, have you tried with Ace or almost Veteran?
we see lot of difference with AI behaviour changing that more than trick the task itself, that looks good.
the only thing i "know" for experience is the "search then engage" task,  is a 1 time call, the group need to be in a reasonable finding range when the trigger start otherwise they didnt found nothing and skip the task. we usually make a bunch of waypoint really near each other with the same identical task so if they miss at the first waypoint they try again and again.

as example: waypoint 3 -> search then engage group
waypoint 4 -> return to waypoint 3

I'll try that!  Thanks for the help.  I will let you know how that works out!
