AlwaysTheFNG Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Hello, I upgraded from a Winwing stick to the Brunner CLS-E MKII (FFB) with a RealSimulator F18 grip a few months ago and have been using it in DirectX mode. It's worked fine, except it frequently goes limp/loses all input. This seems to happen at the same points of a mission (ie lined up for landing on the SOCAL1 TTI server for RWY06 at Sochi within 3 miles of touchdown, or in standalone missions at the same point/phase of the missions when flown multiple times. There's actually 2 symptoms presenting: on SOCAL1 (MP) I get an increasing left roll. Eventually I'm using full right stick to counter, and then end up ejecting, crashing, or leaving the server because it becomes uncontrollable (no cautions, warnings, or advisories in the A/C). On SP missions, the stick just goes limp. No resistance from the motors and no input shown. The stick just dies. This is usually about an hour into the flight, and occurs in multiple provided missions (these aren't missions I've built myself in the ME). I fly most of the ingress/egress on AP, so the motors shouldn't be overheating as there's very little input leading up to that point. Usually happens during or immediately post engagements. I've changed the stick to use CLS2Sim mode, which seems to be working fine controlling the inputs at least (based on a 30 second free-flight test lol), but haven't been able to configure the stick to provide the same resistance that it provides in DirectX and it feels basically like a spring controlled stick, not FFB. Haven't dedicated much time to this yet though, as I don't have any clue about all the settings available through the CLS2Sim software, of which there are plenty available to adjust lol So 1) has anybody seen this issue before? If so, any way to resolve? Would love to use in DirectX mode since it's just so darn easy to use. 2) Anybody have any recommended settings through CLS2Sim to get it to behave in similar fashion to the force curves used in DirectX? I downloaded one of the profiles from the Brunner library, but it didn't resolve the mushy stick and as mentioned above, don't even know what settings I would need to adjust even after watching their videos on YT. All applicable software/firmware is up to date and current. Flying the F/A-18. Appreciate any suggestions out there.
