flyingscotsman Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Small point, but the water towers become repetative, yes they are similar to the ones near us in Monchengladbach,(1983-86) but they didn't show up every 5-miles, perhaps take out 2 of every 3. 1
spclz Posted July 13 Posted July 13 It would be wonderful if you would update and improve the Harz region. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/374030-cold-war-germany-map-frg-harz-region-air-defense-network/#comment-5650083
Maddog-1969 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Thanks for asking and keep up the great work. This map has all the potential to become the most popular DCS map for numerous and various reasons. 1) Some more authentic buildings on Airports. The Bitburg QRA is now a standard hangar, etc. 2) Some more diversity in churches, water-towers and repetitive landmarks. Love to do low level navigation, but most of the smaller towns and villages look the same. 3) Add some temporary road-bases as they used to have during exercises on the 'Autobahn' 3
prius Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Hey dear CWG devs and team! first of all thank you for the amazing work you have delivered to this community! There are some historically important points of interest in the north west. - Wilhelmshaven with Germanys most important Naval Base for all the surface Combatants with lots of history in of itself. Tirpitz was build there, they have a huge sea lock, probably the biggest in the world during Cold War. Also historic sites like the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge. - Oldenburg AFB, home to Fiat G91 / alpha jets and Oldenburg also had a German army tank batallion - Jever AFB, home to tornadoes - Wittmundhafen AFB Home to F-104s and later F-4F Phantoms of the Richthofen wing (heatblurs f4 soundtrack gave us a nice reference). It’s part of aviation history from Manfred von Richthofen, the red baron to ‚heater‘ Heatley (famous dude! he was THE inspiration for top gun) fighting the Richthofen phantoms in his F-5 to teach them the lessons of the top gun course. - Roadbase Ahlhorn, Ever heard of the famous operation highway 84‘? It was a big spectacle back in the day and all of nato was going at it with everything they got. Search for it on YouTube, you will find some cool footage. Amazing stuff! 3
