vrv Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I did a clean install of Vista. Everything is running great for a few hours. LOMAC is running perfectly. I am enjoying life. I see that I have updates that need to be installed and I decided to restart since I had a program that needed to be installed. Big mistake. It restarts and it gives me a few options and says that Windows could not start properly. I boot off of the install disk and try to repair and it can't find any problems. I get a blue screen that flashes for a few seconds. Honestly what the f***? I mean really? What update was I installing for christs sake? Now the OS is f*****? Great but why? I looked on Microsoft and the idiots over there have never heard of this before. I don't even know... vrv Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 The Vista Repair thing doesn't help either it can't find the problem. But the details say "BadPatch" and that is all that I can really make out. Either way I am reinstalling an OS for the fifth time today. enigmatics Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Grab as many driver updates for your hardware from the manufacturer's websites and install those first before doing windows updates, sometimes that can help.
vrv Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 I reinstalled Windows again and encountered a blue screen whenever I started it up this morning. It said that my monitor / display adapter / video card was unable to initialize. So I restart again and after an disk check everything seems to be working fine beyond that I really need to clean off my C:/ drive.
