Hey everyone, so my TrackIR froze mid mission tonight.  I pulled up the software and it was still open and connected, and showing my head moving around.  But when I went back to DCS it was still frozen.  Closed and restarted TrackIR multiple times but couldn't get it to work.  I know there's a way to pause TrackIR but I've never used it, and I didn't do anything when it froze.

Anybody ever had this issue?  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for any help.

PS...I did recently update the TrackIR software...so that could be the culprit?  But I'm not sure why it worked for an hour flawlessly before freezing.

It does that to me every other day or so and instead of restarting DCS and the IR software one user in the past gave great advice just unplug the USB wait few seconds and plug back in...that  fixes it to me every time... worth a try...

And check that the "shut off to save power" setting is turned off on your USB ports.  You may have done it before, but Windows likes to change settings during updates etc.

Would this be an issue if the camera and software showed it was still working, just frozen in-game?

I can't actually give you a true answer on that (not sure what that answer is), but it would be plausible to me that it might time out the USB and put it to sleep at which point it would freeze in game (and it doesn't recover well from such things), but wake the USB port up when you started looking at it in the TIR software.  Regardless, it'll take you less than 30 seconds to check and doesn't involve changing any fundamental settings or anything, so what do you have to lose?

One other thought - what's it plugged into?  Direct into you computer or a powered USB hub?  It's also possible (esp. if direct) that it's experiencing a momentary power drop if too much pull on all the USB's which could cause the same as above.

It's connected to a power usb hub with most of my WinWing stuff
