Is damage to equipment from power transients modeled?

I'm lazy and normally in other jets I just flick everything that I want on while waiting for things to happen like during the spool up of the engines for the fastest startup.

Now, in this jet, systems are modeled to higher level of fidelity regarding damage and the tutorial warns while going over the IRL derived checklists that systems like the INS and the TACAN can be damaged if left active during the power switch over from external to internal, this will probably extend to having the generators on while the engine spools up for a cartridge start.

My question is, Is this actually modeled or just part of the IRL procedures and checklists?

Yes, it is modelled. The electric system is simulated down to volts, watts and individual wires. This is also why Jester specifically waits and asks if you are done with moving the generator switches around before he starts the INS alignment.

A more indepth look (but still an approximation) will be available with the next Phantom build that features the EFB (more specifically its Electrics page) - details in the manual. Cheers
