Mission 3

Hi,

I could well be being a numpty but I've taken off from the Tarawa and made my way to WP1, contacted Jaguar on the radio and am told to contact Hammer 3-5 Ground Forces - however - there is no option in the Radio Menu that I can see to do so.  The mission fails shortly afterwards if you fail to contact them.  Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Hi,

Both were tuned as instructed, Comm1 to Ch1 (243MHz) and Comm2 to Ch7(130MHz) - This issue is also present in Mission 4 where I am asked to contact the UAV to receive target information - there is only Jaguar in the menu choices. 

I would add that both these missions are Cold Starts, not sure if this is a factor but I’m sure the menus worked ok in the first couple of Hot Start missions 

Any ideas?

I tested it with a hot start and everything works. I'll test it with a cold start. null

There might be a bug in a certain situation, but it works fine for me.

I’ve done some testing, I can see from your photos you have Easy Communications On and are pressing the / key to open up the ‘Auto’ menu for communications in both cases.  The problems I was having was using the hardbound COM1 and COM2 with easy coms off.  I’m not sure if this still is an issue but I’m happy to use Easy Comms just for this campaign if it solves the problem, thanks.

With the Easy Communication option disabled, everything works for me. Can you give me a track file of the mission?

Hi,

I tried the mission for the 3rd time (to create a track) and I think I’ve worked it out.  Somehow on each of the 3 occasions even though I’d set the frequency channels correctly at the start I was somehow bumping the right dial to M (manual) and this was causing it to not work.  I was at a loss because I don’t know how I managed the same thing 3 times but anyway it seems to work now, many thanks for your help, really enjoying the campaign thank you

Thanks, very glad to get it sorted!

I will add, it wasn't actually me bumping the button - it seems that inputting the Initial Position coordinates and then selecting 'SEA' mode to align the INS immediately shifts the COM2 to Manual Mode.  Weird, hope this helps someone else!

Probably. Then we'll need to tune the radio stations after the exhibition. I didn't notice any similar issues during the auto-start.
