So my serial number to activate DCS black shark no longer works I bought The english download version of DCS BS.

I have the serial saved in notepad and its the same one that I used when I first bought the game.

Is there an activation limit? I had to reinstall windows on my system because I got a new motherboard. And now I can no longer enjoy DCS.

Is the activation code case sensitive? Do I have to add - to the serial?

Yes, there is an activation limit. Read the quick-start manual for more information on activations (8 total), de-activations (10 total) and related matters.

Yes, it is probably case sensitive. I haven't actually tested that, but I always assume that codes like that are case sensitive and it seems to work for me. Try that if it may be a cause.

That hardware change will probably have eaten one activation, but as long as you haven't changed the computer enough times before that you should be fine. In future though, use a de-activation first, as per the instruction in the quick-start manual. Note however that simply reinstalling the simulator does not require new activations or a de-activation procedure, it is only hardware changes that creates such a requirement.

If the code really isn't working at all, please verify that the code you are using is actually the real serial number, not a transaction number or purchase receipt code. View this image for an example:

There, I have logged into digitalcombatsimulator.com, clicked files and then products. The serial number should be there. (Apologies if you know that, but this information has helped other people before.)
