Dustbag Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Could anyone advise what is the correct/best way to configure DCS settings as there are so many options that could possibly conflict with each other I dont know if I am doing it correctly. I have a Pimax Crystal Light and a RTX4080 and as far as I can see the options I have are DCS Launcher settings DCS In-game settings Pimax Play settings Nvidia App settings 1. Should I launch DCS from the Pimax Play software or the Nvidia App or the DCS Shortcut (Does it make any difference)? 2. If I have configured options in the Nvidia App and I then change settings in the DCS Launcher screen which options does it use? Thanks for any suggestions
sleighzy Posted September 19 Posted September 19 (edited) DCS launcher settings and in-game settings should be the same thing, the launcher just allows you to configure stuff before starting the game. This is especially helpful as some settings require a restart of DCS. Don't know Nvidia App settings you're referring to. Don't know what overlap there is with the ingame ones, you'd need to post a screenshot of Nvidia App settings you're referring to. You should always launch DCS using the DCS shortcut (and not the MT shortcut either). Edited September 19 by sleighzy AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
Dustbag Posted Saturday at 11:20 AM Author Posted Saturday at 11:20 AM I have been using the DCS MT shortcut so could you tell me why I shouldn't use this one? Thanks

Thanks I believe this is running the DCS.exe in the bin-mt folder and you should instead be using the one in the bin folder instead. They're both multithreaded now and bin-mt will be removed in the future. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
ChariotOfFLAME Posted yesterday at 02:22 AM Posted yesterday at 02:22 AM 1. Always launch from the .exe or shortcut. This will ensure that DCS launches in the way it is expecting, which will give you the best chance at a consistent experience 2. Anything you set in the NVIDIA control panel will act as an override and will take precedence over everything else (with the exception of settings you set to “auto” or “let the application decide”). Settings you set in the NVIDIA App will override the settings you previously set in the DCS launcher/in-app, or vice versa, depending on whichever you set last. I recommend using the launcher for these settings
