alookattomorrow Posted Wednesday at 01:42 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:42 AM FF (and forum) first timer here, I'm trying to map as much of the viper cockpit to my HOTAS as possible (I'm still learning all the real switch locations but I like to keep it all as tactile as possible and take advantage of muscle memory) so I have 6 modifiers set up on my VKB gladiator/STECS; Somehow I got 3/4 of the way through it before I noticed that you can set your own name for each modifier key. I've been keeping a spreadsheet of everything as I set it up so this isn't a huge deal, but it would be really nice if I could go back and change the names of my previously set modifier keys (e.g., "Palm Trigger Left" instead of "JOY_BTNxx" in order to make it clearer in the controls options which modifier a given input requires, as I learn the plane and refine my control scheme. As best as I can tell, the only way to do this seems like it would be to delete the modifier and enter it again with my desired name; I don't know exactly what would happen but it seems possible that this would delete all the binds with a given modifier, undoing hours of work cumulatively between all 6 modifiers, and I think I might lose my mind if I had to do that. I'm wondering if there's a workaround for this, either within the game or perhaps more likely by simply editing the text of a LUA file, but I'm not sure where to look. Any ideas?
