My view through the headset kind of jitters side to side after a long stutter. Most of the time this only happens in multiplayer because dcs doesn't usually stutter in singleplayer. It's hard to replicate because its dependent on a stutter that only happens after a while of flying. It persists throughout the whole dcs session and only is fixed when entirely re launching vr.

A few things that show up in your log file.

  • You have a process affinity set for your DCS process and have turned off core 0. Any reason for this?
  • You are running both the OH-6 and UH-60L export hook scripts. These have been known to have performance issues (I don't know which versions you are running) and can lead to stutters as they export all world objects for the gunners. Recommend removing those hooks.
  • You only have 32Gb RAM. I'd recommend dropping your Preload Radius to 30000.
  • You are currently running DCS from the bin-mt folder. Run this from the bin folder as they are both multithreaded now and bin-mt will be removed in the future.

With respect to the OpenXR Toolkit which you're running. What features / settings do you have enabled in there?

What's the refresh rate and resolution slider set to in the Meta app? Do you know what fps you're getting and whether or not ASW is enabled and is turning on and off? If you put the headset to sleep and then wake it up again does it recover, or just disconnects? Does alt-tabbing out of the game and then back in again after a few seconds recover?

I saw somewhere that turning off core 0 could help with performance. I tried it with core 0 off and saw an improvement, but it could be just in my head. Ill experiment with turning it back to normal and see if it makes any difference. I downloaded the OpenXR Toolkit for the overlay so I could change brightness and other visual effects inside the vr, but I don't use it much. I have the Oculus Tray Tool downloaded and that allows me to easily disable ASW when I launch dcs. I always disable ASW because I get artifacts otherwise. I get 60-72fps in game depending on the scene. When I put the headset to sleep and wake it up again, dcs crashes. I had the problem of dcs crashing in vr when I alt tabbed, but I disabled full screen in dcs settings, and it helps for short periods of time. It still crashes when I alt tab for more than about 30 seconds. Ill drop preload radius to 30000 and ill remove the export hook scripts. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm experiencing the same issue: it occurs after a certain amount of time and is preceded by a significant stutter. I can only recover it by rebooting the headset, exactly as you described.

Could you please tell me how to remove the hooks from a UH-60L? I have no idea what are you talking about, sorry

Thanks.

Replicate the problem and then attach your DCS log file here. Do you have the UH-60L mod installed? It’s the Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Hooks\bhHook.lua file

Thanks for answering! Yesterday I removed all the mods (yes, I have the UH-60L) and apparently everything went smooth. I will try putting back just the A-4 mod and see what happens. If I get the same problem, I will attach my log file
