Hi, I'm trying to learn the Hornet and am not sure if I watching out of date tutorials, even though they are only around 4 months old. The radar settings in some online YT tutorials show the "set" key on the radar mfd as in the picture. Hwever there is no sign of it on my mfd. Is this the result of an update?

Is there any current way to retain radar settings once you have found a config that suits the mission?

Cheers

The "SET" key function is used to set up the air-to-air radar for a missile mode.

For example, if you select an AIM-120 with the HOTAS, you can set up the radar for the bar scan, azimuth scan, range, PRF, and if you look under "DATA" you can set that to the save time for a contact via your radar.  Once you do all of that, press "SET" and that will save the settings for the air-to-air radar then you can go back to you normal scanning method until you need it.  Say you cancel A/A mode then you have to call up the AIM-120 again, it will go back to those saved settings.

There is a YouTube video about this ability:

The SET option appears only in RWS mode. When switch to TWS it changes to AUTO/MAN.

So setup the radar in RWS and once done, switch to TWS.

You can also use DCS-DTC to automate this and various other stuff until ED adds it natively.

Thanks for the clarification Folks.

I've been watching the YT page above as it seems to be the most recent. It's curious how some favour TWS over RWS for A2A
