Madman1 Posted Wednesday at 09:07 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:07 PM My STECS throttle grip is getting a bit messy so I'm wondering how best to clean it. There are tiny little flecks of what I can only assume are dead skin (from my palm) sticking to it. I tried brushing them off with a soft brush and wiping them off with a clean cloth but that didn't work. Any good advice would be appreciated.
Aapje Posted Friday at 11:53 AM Posted Friday at 11:53 AM You can take them off completely and wash them with a mild dish soap and lukewarm water. 1

Thanks, that worked perfectly. Criticism for VKB: During disassembly I discovered that the grips are held on with metal screws in plastic holes . For what I paid for the throttle I had expected that they would use metal-to-metal fasteners becasue that is a much more durable way of doing things. Metal screw threads have a tendency to strip the threads in plastic holes; that's fine if it is only going to ever assembled once and then never disassembled ever again but that is clearly not the case here. I suppose they did it to cut cost. ::sigh:: 1
