KILSEK Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Hi all. I have been dogfighting a Su-27 for most of the day (FC 1.1 rocks) and I have noticed something and could use an explanation. The mission is 1vs1 over the sea both at 25k ft and at 100 miles apart. When I stay with the BVR mode the Su will let me get right on its' six. I fire off a 120 at 10 miles and usually miss the first, probably because we're both going the same direction, speed and altitude. the second I fire at less than five and hit everytime. Now if I switch to LMA(flood, right?) and get a Aim-7 ready, the Su will come right at me and we get it on at 40 miles out. This is a radar mode question, not a missile question. Why does BVR mode not get the Su-27 attention but LMA "flood" mode does? If someone could explain, I would be most appreciative. Thanks, -KILSEK
