Tango Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Hi, I started DCS:BS up tonight the same as the last few nights, only it asked for activation?! The only difference between tonight and the other nights is that I have an external drive connected and powered up. I also installed the latest version of VirtualBox which installed some system drivers. I had no option but to activate. I now have no more activations left. Win 7 Pro. Best regards, Tango.
Panzertard Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 You can request for more activasion if you run out. Beware - some Virtualization software may affect the SF into thinking there's new hardware on your computer. VMWare, Virtual PC (not sure about Xen) may add some new virtual NIC / change NIC's - and cause reactivasion. Not seen it with any VPN layers yet - but you might expect the same thing to happen there. So if you're in the above situation - try not to shuffle around on those NIC's too much, and you should be able to survive for longer without having to request new keys. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Tango Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Hi, It had added new virtual network cards. I guess it saw that as a config change. Best regards, Tango.
EtherealN Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Yes, AFAIK virtual hardware is indistinguishable from real hardware for the system.
