I can see you run the RC1 edition - should be okai.

ATI - maybe you can turn OFF the Catalyst AI function? It's a known show stopper.

Also, maybe you can find a bit newer driver for your ATI - that might help.

Driver File Version: 8.14.0010.0708 (English)
    Driver Version: 8.671.0.0
       DDI Version: 10.1
      Driver Model: WDDM 1.1
Driver Attributes: Final Retail
  Driver Date/Size: 11/4/2009 10:23:10, 3602432 bytes

You should find it in the ATI control panel. (Not sure where - Nvidia here).

If you dont have it you may have to download it.

You might as well update the drivers while you're at it.

I uninstalled it, turned off AI, then reinstalled it. Now I get this error box Can not open ...... /temp/tempmission.miz

Uninstalled "It"? What It? DCS? ATI drivers? Control Panel?

Okai, we need to start from scratch here - and be a bit more specific. :)

1. DCS 1.0 (english?) -> Upgraded to 1.0.1c (english?)

- No mods installed? No custom Files? If so, start with a *clean* DCS 1.0 before upgrading. No modman or anything.

2. Latest ATI drivers. No need to uninstall DCS when upgrading drivers - or changing the ATI Catalyst AI = Off.

Then - when those criterias are okai - and it still crashes;

- Before crash (you can reproduce it obviously), clean out the "Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Temp" folder. Empty

- Start DCS - reproduce problem.

- Take a screenshot of the error.

- Describe what you were doing.

- Quit / Exit DCS.

- Gather the Errorlogs from the \Temp folder.

- Any CRASH files are relevant as well.

Attach the relevant files here.

And the describtions of what you were doing :)

You can find more instructions here if you feel lost;

Also, I'm not sure if this is still an issue, but if you're running Vista or W7 it's best *not* to install the game in the Program Files directory; rather, you should put it somewhere like 'C:\Games\DCS'.

A slightly different problem now.

OK, I've got this problem solved. I can get to any of the screens and choose whatever training mission. But I can't seem to get out of Pause/break. I also can't print out the full manaul that's on the DVD. When I print it, blank pages are printed. Is there another version of the manual, maybe in word?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Would be nice to know what the issue was - how you solved it.

So others can benefit from what you learned. :)

For unpause;

The sim does not respond to keyboard commands and I cannot un-pause the sim. I’m unable to save and restore my joystick profiles.

In general - you do seem to have "many things" not working as it's supposed to on your system.

"How come" one might wonder ... ;)

I would generally ask you to have a good look at the health of your system - or consider if you have some old virus breakout that have ruined your system?

Or even some anti-malware software that prevents you from operating it properly?
