Strange graphics clitch.

Hi,

I have just loaded BS on my laptop but I am experiancing a strange graphics clitch.

If someone could give me any info as how I can correct this it would be appreciated.

 

Specs are:

 

Dell 1747 Studio laptop.

Windows 7 64 all upto date

Intel Core i7 cpu

ATI mobility 4650 1GB catalyst 9.12

4GB DDR 3

 

BS was loaded directly from the DVD and then patched to 1.01c English version.

No mods have been installed and I have tried to load the patch again but it come up an error " Black Shark is not found. Reinstall application."

I have installed DCS BS to C:\ GAMES\ Eagle Dynamics\ Ka-50

so dont understand whats wrong there:huh:

Looks like it fails to load some textures.

 

First thing to try would be to disable Catalyst AI, just in case, since that can affect how textures are handled.

Tried that suggestion but still the same. Any further suggestions.

Reinstall once more, if the patch doesn't recognize where your installation is then it's likely there's something more to be wrong.

If you have any software that may intercept your setup (Like Symantec Internet Security / Malware protection etc) - it may block certain elements from being installed properly.

- Disable those software pieces when you install.

 

And run a diskcheck on your system just to be sure that you dont have anything funny going on with the filesystem.

(CHKDSK /F C: or similar)

 

Now be sure that you use correct language version when you patch it back up from 1.0 to 1.0.1c.

- For English DCS:BS use the English Patch.

- Also be sure you have no mods there when you do it.

 

And you've already tried at the alternate install-path, good - just use a new folder this time. :)

I have tried installing in different sections of my HHD ie C: Program Files etc but this had no effect.

When trying to reinstall the patch, I still get "BS install not found". The game loads fine except for the graphics glitch I have raised.

If I do a fresh reinstall of the game, would I have to re activate, thus loseing an activation?

I would like information as to who to contact at ED for direct support for this issue as its becoming anoying, especialy as I have followed the instructions for installing the game and patch.

Please, could someone from ED give me any help with this matter?
