Mod "Les Mirages" - v1.00 for Lockon FC 1.12 ======= Project history and special thanks ====== Before anything else, we would like to thank Knell : a lot ! We owe him the beautiful original models of the Mirage F-1, Mirage IV, fuel tanks, Barax, Phimat, Reco pods present in this mod and since a while in the AdA Mod (version less finalized) Without his generosity and his trust, we would never have the chance to spend that much time working on the details, polishing, skinning, integrating as best as possible his models and their variants in Lockon. The cure for the "Two More Weeks" syndrome being still a mystery, it is only now, January 2010, that we managed to release this mod. We sincerely hope that you would enjoy it in Lockon as much as we had fun creating it. And if by chance you have a little time to spare, do not hesitate to thanks Knell on his site : http://www.lockon-models.com In addition to Knell another huge "thank you" should go to Dada4 for its skins and the work he made on the templates of Mirage (F-1CR and IV) : the details, the accuracy and the quality are just incredible ; Duderino deserves also his share of compliments, for its superb "European Green" F-1 texture. This list would not be complete without a few words for : - Oxitom who joined our modding team with his unbelievable aeronautic culture and his passion for Lockon. He is the author of several superb F-1 skins of this mod. - The beta testers who made a long journey and never spared their efforts ; thanks to them for their dedication and support, and especially to : - Romaniak and WoodMand who were not only present from the beginning to the end of the project, but are also the authors of the missions available in this package. - anto-big-boss and GOZR for their help and useful comments. - To LothamRoth, the scenarist without limits, movie director with a prolixity beyond the extreme, sleepless artist, the man who can deliver to the world 4 minutes of brutal video art in a week end. Lotham, you are the best, thank you ! - To Cpt Stark for its deep knowledge of aircraft serial numbers and being a really a nice guy. - To Azrayen for his fixes on the skins of the Mirage IV , his deadly, always right on, incredibly useful critics which help(ed) us to always try to do better, his role as -Absolute PIT MC - (Pain In The ... Master Chief), his love of the well done things and of "La Defense" Starbuck's Coffee for what it was, -before-. - To the French Air Force Communication Department (SIRPA) for the loading screen of the mod and promoting the most beautiful aircrafts that ever flew and fly ^^ - To BarbsMan for tidying up and improving the 3D models made by Knell (new landing gears, new animations, navigation lights, pilot and eject seat, afterburner, air brakes, canopy, texture mapping, antennas, 3D fixes...) and for the variants of the Mirage F-1 (C-100, 200, CT) - To HubMan for his skins and his "King Size" templates for the F-1 and MIV, dirtying and weathering the models that just were so nice and clean before ^^, writing up the meinit, the .skins files (a deep poet soul was necessary for that kind of things) and packaging the mod. (thanks to Skypat for ModMan by the way ^^) ======= Description and content of the mod ======= The Mod "Les Mirages" makes possible to fly in Lockon : - Several model of Mirage F-1 as a replacement of the MiG-29K : - C-100 : Tactical Fighter : historical version. No refueling probe. - C-200 : Tactical Fighter : with refueling probe. Improvement of the C-100 - CT : Tactical Fighter with a nice Air To Ground / limited air superiority capabilities - CR : Tactical Fighter and Reconnaissance Platform, one of the best in the world at this job. Can do everything the CT does, plus reconnaissance. - the Mirage IVP : strategical reconnaissance, replaces the Su24-MR. - a fair amount of ordnance : bombs, missiles, rockets, ECM pods : Barax, Phimat, BOZ, reconnaissance pod CT-52, fuel tanks : central and under wings... ======= Known limitations of the mod ======= The ones forced upon us by the way Lockon was released. This awesome game was never really meant to be deeply modded : we tried our best, but what you can do is quite limited. In particular : - the flight model for the F-1 is the one of the MiG-29K : an aircraft with powerful engines and a high thrust / ratio but less agile than the other MiG-29s of the game (making gunzo slightly more fun ^^) - the cockpit is the one of reskinned MiG-29 with Mirage 2000 textures. The instrument position and 3D remains the one of a Fulcrum. A dedicated cockpit will probably be made one day, but modding time is expensive and unfortunately we had other priorities ^^ - guided weapons are handled in a very limited way (some laser ordnance is not guided until impact but fire and forget). - several weapons are modded over Russian ordnance (KH-29L for the AS 30L, AM-39...) - the RWR does not produce any sound alerts, but a surprise may be coming soon... ^^ ======= Modding and intellectual property ======= A little note on using all or part of this mod : - for private use (== no public distribution, availability of what you created) : really do whatever you want ! ^^ - for public use / availability (== download links on forums, sites... can be openly retrieved...) : ask us (AdA Mod Team) and the other authors of this mod (Knell...) the authorization ! Not getting an answer back means "sorry, we wish we could help you, but we can not grant you the authorization to use our work" - we mostly (:P) are nice guys and we mod for free on our free time : if you want to come and help us, contribute, or if you need help, drop by on the AdA Mod forum and send us a PM, we will be glad to see what we can do to help you. ======= Final words ======= As for a lot of other very important subjects (Bread, Wine, Cheese...), the small world of the military simulation gaming would not be the same without the French Touch ^^ Many thanks again to Knell and to the nice people who helped us and still do, to make live and fight the Armée de L'Air in Lockon:FC.
