I kicked myself after ordering the hardcopies of lomac, flaming cliffs, and blackshark, noticing later there was a digital versions. But after having a look at the forums, maybe I dogged a bit of bullet, or is it the same story with the hard copy digital protection?

As well I botched my first attempt at purchasing lomac/fc as it's the first time I've used a credit card. Now the card has been charged, but the website doesn't have the order info. I received the confirmation email, but it doesn't have my physical address. Anyone know if they'll just send it to the CC billing address?

Hardcopy and digital distribution use exactly the same protection system. Technically you could take the digital distribution files, add the tutorial videos, and burn that to a DVD and you'll have the same thing. ;)

There really is no bullet to dodge, though. There's no driver, and it doesn't count installs - it only checks your hardware profile to determine whether it's a new computer or not. (There seems to have recently been a database issue over at StarForce HQ, but that's the first time I've ever heard of something like that happening and it'll no doubt be fixed quickly.) If you run out of activations through legitimate means (though there is a de-activation feature should you be changing your hardware), you can simply contact Eagle Dynamics to explain your case and you will most likely be refilled, so to speak, at no charge. The Quick Start manual has more information on this.

Which specific website did you order from?

Yeah, poor choice of words I suppose, with the bullet dodging. Thanks so much for the info.

I ordered from http://lockon.co.uk and it redirected me to the sagepay site.

Sage pay said the transaction went through and lockon.co.uk reported a time out, and I had to log back in. The cart was still full and no purchases were reported, but I got the confirmation email just the same.

I used http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/?lang=en to get BS, it also redirected me to sagepay, accepted the payment, and sent me back to dcs which reports the purchase. I had just logged into DCS, where as I'd been logged into lockon.co.uk for a couple of hours.

I believe this was caused by my lockon.co.uk user account session expiring before I completed the sagepay transaction.

I sent the webmaster@lockon.co.uk, so I'll probably hear back from them next week. The billing address is the same as the delivery address, so I'm not too worried. It's just cool, to log into the web site and see the listing. :D

I'll poke IT about the case as well so they can look at it.

It is possible that the transaction failed, but your bank had already shadowed the funds on your account. If this is the case, the funds have not actually left your account, they are held in reserve anticipating a claim from ED. If the transaction failed due to the session change you noted, ED is unable to claim the funds and they will revert after 5-6 bank days.

Please ensure that your forum account is set to e-mail you when a PM is sent, since some information gathering might need to be done out of the public eye (to ensure your privacy) and this will help you know promptly if such communication occurs.
