Lomac 1.12b and Saitek X45 joystick

Every time I go into options and choose this device it reverts back to keyboard and the joystick buttons do not work. It refuses to save my controller choice.

Still unable to get joystick buttons to work in LOMAC. I am using Windows 7. The Saitek control panel lets me calibrate the joystick and everything works fine, but when I start LOMAC the joystick buttons do not work.

A possible factor is permissions.

 

If Permissions:

You're just a user on your own computer, not admin. Hence, you're not allowed to save any settings within C:\Program Files\nnnnn\

How to fix, fixing permissions, alt. 1:

- Either start the game with righclick "Run as administrator".

- or change the permissions on the Lomac game-folder. You need to be an administrator to do that. Righclick on the folder for the game in C:\Program Files, choose properties, go to the security tab.

Then in the list select "edit" and find "Users", give "Users" full control.

 

How to fix, by reinstalling, alt. 2:

- Reinstall the game (first uninstall, then install) in an alternate location outside C:\Program Files, for example C:\LOMAC or D:\Games\Lomac

I always run as administrator. The throttle works as does one of the hat switches and the x and y axes work, but the buttons do not work in the game.

I tried re-installing the game and now I am blocked by the Starforce copy protection and cannot run the game at all.
