Problem firing Mavericks

I have just bought FC2 and am having trouble firing mavericks. All my other weapons release but the mavericks won't.

Does any one have an idea why?

Are you holding the fire button down long enough - you need to hold it down in FC2.

I have just been stabbing at the button - it works perfectly once you hold it down for a couple of seconds.
