StrongHarm Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I won't go over what VAC is again, see my previous post in the Blackshark forum for information on using and obtaining VAC. It's always worked flawlessly for me and it has a great development environment. I can't say enough about how great this app is and it's only $18. One thing I don't like is tweaking the milisecond timing between words based on the type of phrase. For instance, if you split the commands up, you have to say 'wingman two' (then pause) 'attack my enemy'. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to tweak the pause time so you don't have to actually pause when speaking, and it varies based on the phrase you're using. I therefore, have created a profile that has all 125 commands in full sentence. You can say 'Wingman two attack my enemy' without a pause. No need to train it or get used to it. Just install and use. It works so well I can give commands to my wingmen while my pipe is in my teeth. The file contains the XML profile file, as well as a spreadsheet that outlines the commands and their corresponding keys. DOWNLOAD 2 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
DanKurt Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 As StrongHarm states, this software is awesome and well worth the $18 of any simmers money. One word of caution to any UK keyboard users thinking of downloading StrongHarms excellent profile, it will not work unless you change the \ key stroke to a # key. Its not a major issue and can be rectified easily, but thought I should mention it all the same.

UltraEdit is my text editor of choice. It's magic! It's also a bit expensive ($50), but if you're a developer, or find yourself using advanced search/edit/batching.. it's well worth the money. You can search the entire fc2 directory and replace certain text without opening the files for instance. It's very dev friendly and automatically color formats code.. even fc2 config files. DanKurt Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Nice suggestion StrongArm. I hope you didn't mind my suggestion of a UK fix to your profile as unfortunately this crops up with UK keyboard layouts and other hardware profiles e.g. CH product profiles etc.
StrongHarm Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 No not at all DanKurt. At the top of my list of reasons to do business with ED, is the awesome community. I appreciate any suggestion or feedback. Do you have a xml file with the changes that you could post up? I'd suggest naming the zip something like UKfc2VAC.zip It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
