Pigwiggen Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Having bought the new disc in the UK, why might I be having these problems when the basic 'Lock On' and 'Falcon:Allied Force' both provide me with all I had hoped for... With FC my disc needs several tries to get it to install. Using my TrackIR5, this frequently is inoperative. The principal POV switch on my X52 Pro won't work at all, either internally or externally. With the 'Grach', when I try using the laser keyboard combination (Shift-O) it won't hold at all, or even if I try arranging up a different keyboard combination. Yet, as I've mentioned, with the basic 1.02 Lomac and Falcon, all the above work perfectly. Any ideas, folks? Panzertard Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Thats alot of problems all at once. - You got it installed, so thats no longer a problem, correct? - TIR5 frequent inoprative can be several things, using the wrong profile in TIR5 profile selection may be one of them. A poor USB socket may be another. - x52 POV must work in the Control Panel, Gaming Devices - otherwise it wont work in your game. You need to get that sorted first. Warranty / replace it? As for the RShift-O - it wont stick? Sure you used the right shift and not the left? The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Pigwiggen Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Flaming Cliffs challenges Thanks for your swift response to my fistful. I have managed to install it eventually, although just now I've uninstalled it to check over the results I might get with a return to Lomac. TR5 has FC included in its default lists, along with Lomac and Falcon, so I have tried setting FC as my principal sim there. I've also swapped around my several USB ports. The POV switch works perfectly well when I check it out via the Control panel that's found via the Task bar icon, AND it responds to the 'Test' check in the options page within FC but not when I'm airborne. PS It also works perfectly with MS FS 2004. Let's see...yep, I used the right shift key as well. It kicks off the laser until I let the key/stick button go then it immediately cancels itself. Warranty or replacement. That appears to be the only route open now. Any more thoughts? Robin_Hood Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I'm assuming you're talking about Flaming Cliffs 1 (Lock-On version 1.1x). As far as TrackIR issue is concerned, check maybe if there is a file "trackir.ini" in "Input" folder (maybe it is Config\Input ?). If there is, delete it, then launch the game and try again. You should always launch TrackIR first, then Lock-on, else it won't work (and it will creat the trackIR.ini which will prevent subsequent launching to work). I hope that's the problem, else I don't know. Can't help you with the other issues, either 2nd French Fighter Squadron
Pigwiggen Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 It turned out to be the disc itself. I've now got a replacement and all appears to be shuffling along quite happily. Thanks for the help along the way, fellows.
