Hi guys,

I've recently started making a campaign on LOMAC:FS, nothing particularly fancy - but I've recently had problems with Static Objects. I looked around the forum but couldn't see anything about it.

Involved in the mission are two static objects, a .command bunker and an .ammunition depot; which two FA/18Cs are supposed to bomb.

The problem is that when the mission starts (Mission 5 in the campaign) that the two static objects don't appear; if I hit F12 to view static objects, it focuses in on a patch of ground where I placed the object, but the object's aren't there - and when the FA/18Cs bomb them they just hit grass and crater.

There's quite a lot of other stuff happening in the map, but not so much that I would have thought it a problem - as I've ran more complex maps and they haven't vanished. Even more curious is that I just ran the map again, having deleted everything except the static objects and they have reappeared - following that I ran the map with nothing removed, and they're back again.

Any ideas? I find it strange they're here sometimes but not others?

Hi Robert,

First, consider that the ammunition depot and the bunker, both are quite hard to spot from air (bunker being difficult to see... I guess why they did that :music_whistling: )

Second, when the mission starts, it´s paused, if not, just hit PAUSE and enter the mission by pressing Briefing-->Fly. Once inside, hit F10 and the map should appear. If the objects are NOT hidden, you should see a pin point showing the locatoin of the bunker. Click it, and after that, press F12. Then with your mouse, move around a little trying to look from different angles and altitudes. As I said before, sometimes they are pretty hard to spot at first.

Hope it helps.

Greetings.

Hi,

Name's Callum; Robertson's the surname :)

The pin is on the (F10) Map but the objects themselves are not actually rendering; I've attached a screenshot to show you what I mean - the object itself simply isnt existing.

Thanks :P

--Edit--

Im aware theres a bunker in the background of both pictures, thats a different object (one which is appearing) - the screenshots show the F12 view of both the Command Centre and the Ammunition Depot; or rather the view of some grass where they are supposed to be :P

What is the building in the background in the 2nd screenshot? Looks like A. Depot. It´s strange that from far you can see it and not with a close up... hummmmm.

PS: Sorry for calling you Robert :)

Hi, those two screenshots are of the "missing" static objects; the ammunition depot in the background is actually a 3rd static object; 2/3 of the static objects I placed are shown in the screenshots, at the moment I have no problems with the remaining static object (the one in the background of those two shots. Both shots focus on where the missing object should be)

I really have no clue of what the problem could be. Is it a stock version of FC2?

Have you modified any configuration files by hand? (I´m just guessing)

FC1.12 - patched recently but I haven't modified anything apart from adding the patch.

I've had no problems running the patch in the last month, just now :pilotfly:

Is uninstall and reinstall a valid option for you?

(I guess you already tried that, that I cannot think of anything else)

Have you tried moving them to a different location? Its a seriously weird bug to have my only guess is that they are overlapping with objects within the game world.

Try simply changing them to a different object, and if that doesnt work, delete it and put a new one there.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

I have faint memories of seeing this behaviour before, try moving them off position slightly.
