hey, need a bit of help trimming here... i've been reading a few posts and i know u can press RCTRL+enter to see that trimming guide popup or what ever is called...

my problem is that when i trim the aircraft.. say for example.. if i want to trim it nose down i move the joystick forwards and then press the trim button and release.... it trims to the right! if i trim to the right it trims to go backwards.. if i trim backwards it trims to go left... if i trim to the left it'll trim forwards... what an earth is up with that??

This makes it very difficult to trim... i need to move left in order to trim the aircraft forwards so its hard to judge the position :/

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Could you attach a short track file displaying this behaviour?

Hm, wow. That's very peculiar.

Seems like there's a "disagreement", so to speak, on which axis does what. Does the stick physically move to the new location or is it strictly in-game?

well the stick will move to the new position.. it follows whats happening in game..... and as you can probably imagine this is a very fustrating thing...

Yeah, I think you have ghosts in your stick.

Have you checked if FFB is acting properly when you calibrate and test in the windows controller setup environment?

An alternative might be to open producer.cfg and change the force-feedback entry to false. (Remember to backup the file.) You'll have to use the centre-method, but it might avoid this issue.

im running window 7... there's no driver for the joystick.. so cant go in the setup and calibrate like i used to on XP... unless i just dont know how to do it... as for turning force feedback off.. kinda ruins having a ffb joystick... i'd consider it but only as last resort.... i wounder if anyone has seen this problem befor..

(Scratch that... callibration done, found it... but still same problem)

oh also if i turn force feedback off... ill have to hold the joystick continuously.. if i were to let go without the feedback the joystick would just fall down .. the stick wont hold its position.... so what would be fustrating aswell..

ok, i have found the solution to this problem, if anyone else is experiencing this problem with force feedback, just do this:

-go to game options

-controls

-select axis to modify the joystick axis'

-Click on any axis Y or X

-Click FF option

-make sure "Swap axis" is ticked

And voila!

On not having FFB - you would not have to hold the stick. The non-FFB trimmer has taken this into account. ;)

Good to see you found the solution though.

ah thats good, although would be nice if they had an accurate trim u can do like in il2 or flight sim... just to help precise your trimming.... although that would slightly remove realism...

I installed BS on Win 7 this morning, and was having shocking problems with MSFFB2 trim, kept pulling back to centre. I had a feeling there was a fix that didn't involve new joystick, but couldn't remember what it was... Swap axis is the one.

This should make it into an FAQ on FFB sticks.
