Grimes Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Fusion and I were talking on the ghosttown known as Hyperlobby about AI and what we could and couldn't modify about them. Lets say we wanted to alter, change, or enhance AI unit behavior. For land, sea, and air units. Such a mod would be useful for a few purposes... realism, enhancing stupid AI, improving gameplay, but also to make the difficulty differences become more noticeable. Currently for AI ground units its a question of how omniscient they are. It shouldn't be like that I know of the lua files in Scripts\AI What is possible? What other files can effect AI? How much of ground units AI can we change? What about Air units? Could we make it so strike aircraft don't drop their payload at the slightest defensive move? Could we modify their flight patters so they conserve fuel more efficiently? Is is possible to make AI ground units scatter when attacked? I don't mean via triggers, there are many many reasons I can give why its impractical and a bad idea to use triggers for that. Is it all server end? Can a mod be made, applied to a server and all players see the same thing? Anyone with lua knowledge intersted in such a project? :music_whistling: The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. RvEFuSiOn Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Also while we are talking about this topic, can anyone please explain some of the values in detection.lua If I'm reading it correctly, some of the values need to be reworked or looked at again, because at present tactical style of flying behind ridge lines and mountains is pointless, since the AI immediately spots you once you enter 5km zone.
