hassata Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Hi: I was able to run LOVP in server mode without problem. I tried BSVP but cant connect. Can't see the problem, as the server address port etc. are all the same. BSVP runs on main machine in standalone mode fine, but I always get a Disconnect when I try to run in server mode. ONe thing I noticed, I was asked to firewall exempt LOVP but not BSVP. Anyway I added BSVP manually and also tried running with no firewall altogether, but still no joy. Judging by the lan ports, there is no activity at all being sent to the client. Thanks for any help [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Spent the better part of a day testing. When I extract BSVP, and copy the config and export files and immediately paste them in the export folder, the local instance of BSVP runs fine. The second I edit the export file in anyway (e.g.) to put in the client pc ip) local stops working. Weird. I have tried saving with and without the lua extension. I have also insured ports are open etc. It has something to do with my edit if the export file. P.S. I am using notepad++. Any ideas? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Gigha Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Just downloaded BSVP and tried it in server mode and worked straight out of the box. It did require Firewall clearance on first run, it came up as Questviewer that required approval. Is this what you added manually to the firewall rules. What OS are you running on your server. I will send you a modified export.lua as you requested in the other thread, but don't think this is the problem.
hassata Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 Thanks Gigha. It didn't request clearance, but I turned off firewall and also made sure 8080 was open. Tried to add quest as well bur I think it's only a process. I'll try the file u modified. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 Emali sent. As predicted luck with the lua. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hassata Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Well, I did a clean install of xp on the client and I reinstalled dcs bs 1.02 on the server, made sure 8080 was open added questviewer and bsvp to exceptions but still no luck. Maybe bsvp is not yet compatible with 1.02? Otherwise I'm at the end of my rope, as lovp works fine. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
