mig29 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Is there any way that would tell me (RWR) how far is a SARH missile that is launched at me? I am flying Mig-29 & SU-27.
Fahhh Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 No, there isn't. If you know the distance to the bandit firing at you, and use the clock/stopwatch, you can have a basic idea of where the missile is, but to do this you need to gain some experience. Turn your labels on, and do some practice flights. Notice when the missile is fired and take measure of the time it needs to get to you. Notice the time will be different if you fly high or low, fast or slow, head on or off-course. Slowly you'll start getting the idea of what's going on and when to disengage and extend. 1
mig29 Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 Thanks Fahhh. Just imagine the mental composition of the real pilots, in a life threatening situation and doing all that math.
S77th-konkussion Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Using the power meter on the Beryoza- you can get a rough idea of how close the locking platform is.. From that info- assume that the missile is closer... :D [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
