Hi

Just doing a test mission and the AWAC's reports automatically that bandits are bearing 330. However if ask for a vector the nearest bandit it says Olympus 100 and thats about it. I take it that it is giving me some info, but it is not the same as the my true bearing to the bandits which i know is 330.

So why is it saying 100, when i know it's different?

Thanx

What plane were you flying? Can you reproduce the situation?

If it was a Russian plane the '100' may have been your callsign, i.e. the message is in the format "100, Olympus, blah blah blah" where 100 is who it's directed to and Olympus is who it's from. The subtitles also displays Olympus: in front of it.

Possibly there's a difference between the range at which it will automatically report a bandit, and the range it will report when you request a vector to the nearest one. In that case, the reply to your query may have been "Olympus: 100, Olympus, clean."

Or, the bandit in question was shot down between the time it was reported and the time you asked for a vector.
