Doogie009 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 My G940 Right and Left Throttle axis inputs are registering the same x and y axis inputs as the G940 Joystick pitch and roll axis inputs in the Options controller panel for the A-10C beta software. I've tried selecting all other axis, including all the sliders available, from the drop down menu, checking the slider option box in addition from the Axis Tune option menu; but I'm only able to get pitch and roll effects when in the sim from throttle movements. No thrust or throttle up and down change "in flight". The X and Y axis movement of the Joystick will register properly, as will the rudder. I've tried this with the Logitech profiler both on and off but no "joy" so to speak. I've unistalled and reinstalled the A-10C beta software. I was not initially familiar with the DCS controller input screen and never tried Black Shark as I have been waiting for the A-10C software and only have LockOn 1.12 and earlier versions of LockOn on my computor. All previous Eagle Dynamic software has not presented me with this issue. IL2 1946, Xplane, BobII; no issues. I've had these SIMs and have been able to register correct axis inputs on Vista 32bit OS as well as XP and Windows 7 64bit OSs. I'm currently running Windows 7 64bit OS on an ASUS P6T delux V2 motherboard, Intel i7 920 2.66ghz OC'd to 3.6, and Track IR 4. The Game or flight SIM software is all installed on a Raid 10 drive, while my Windows 7 OS and controller software, as well as other critical software, are installed and run from an intel SSD. I've searched forums and googled trying to find an answer to trouble shoot this issue myself, but I'm stumped. Do I wait for the Beta A-10c software updates, or is there somewhere else I should be looking for an answer? For the moment, I'm plumb out of ideas. Can anyone give me a clue here besides dumping my G940 or going back to my Saitek X52 that finally started to show signs of wear like my old MS FFB?
Kankkis Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 hi, i have G940 too and have problems with throttle first. Make sure go Game main menu optinos and then gameplay and press Presets "Simulation" and then try assing those axes again, helped me.
blaster454 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I'm not real sure what you are saying here. I've attached a picture of my G940 axis settings in the sim. The Throttle will show as Joy Y and Joy X for the left and right throttles, respectively. That is because the G940 registers itself as three separate input devices (or "Joysticks"). So as long as you are clicked in the correct column (G-940 throttle) and double click the left throttle box in that column, when you move your left throttle back and forth it should register itself with the game as Joy Y. This is working OK for me in the sim. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your issue. If so, please try to describe it again and I'll do what I can. Doogie009 Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 blaster454......thanks.....I did manage to finally fumble around the control screen comming from the options tab and get both throttle axis to register on the control screen and work in the SIM flight. I did so by clearing all prelisted axis, except for the Joystick X and Y axis, which appeared to be working correctly from the get go. But.....I also clear out the axis prelisted under the game dropdown menu......and reregistered all axis in/on there since something was still causing the simulated plane in Instant Action to roll and pitch upon movement of the throttle, and again in the Instant Action simulation, I had no simulated thottle movement or alteration of thrust except those adjustments I made from the Keyboard. Somehow clearing all the axis that were prelisted when I first popped open the control screen and then reregistering those axis again seemed to finally result in everything working correctly. But.......what your response did for me has been immense. I was having a hard time accepting the JoyX and Joy Y registering for both the throttle and the G940 Joystick thinking something was just not quite right....especially because I had this pitch and roll displaying upon movement with the throttles in Instant Action Simulation previously. I do not think you misinterpreted my issue, since I am surely a newbie when it comes to this SIM and struggle to understand how it is operating, let alone attempt to explain the problems I might be having with it. I'm used to reading the forums and learning from others more experienced with it, or having similar issues to my own, and fumbling around til I hit on something that works, or improves my experience with the SIM. Thanks for your patience and your response, again. Doug
