ORBITER-like screensaver.

On your screen you will see a stunningly realistic picture of near-Earth space, as well as several spacecraft, created or envisaged by the really talented Russians:

  • the first human-built Earth satellite “Sputnik”, launched in USSR on October 4, 1957;
  • "workhorse" of the Soviet and Russian human space industry — spaceship “Soyuz” (“Union”);
  • the most sophisticated spacecraft ever built in this country — reusable orbital spaceship "Buran" that made its first and only flight on November 15, 1988;
  • demonstration mock-up of the military orbital laser station “Polyus”(“Pole”), which suffered a failure during its launch on May 15, 1987;
  • the most secret space object in the history of our space industry - military space laser station “Skif” (“Scythian”), including detailed description of all stages of its warlike operations;
  • orbital plane, Multipurpose Aerospace System (MAKS), that has been developed by NPO “Molniya” since 1988;
  • orbital technological complex for industrial production of semiconductors in space that was developed as part of MAKS initiative;
  • our most lengthy and most successful space construction project — modular space station “Mir”.

Don't forget to install patches with the improved textures. Enjoy!

P.S. Yes, my mistake, just forgot put the link to download page under that cool GIF file. It happened because of this:

If you want to create the right atmosphere or if want your boss to loose his face or even jump out of the window with the cry “Russians are coming” (in case of what we need to say that we are not reliable for any consequences and all responsibility is yours :)) we have here three versions of such file:

  • parts of the Russia-USSR national anthem (by Ensemble of Soviet Army named under Alexandrov, conductor — Vyacheslav Korobko, recording of 2004, 1.24 min, bitrate 320 kbit/sec, 3.21 Mb);
  • slightly “milder” piece of music from soviet film “Neulovimuye mstiteli” (“Avengers who can't be caught”) (music by Boris Mokrousov, lyrics by Robert Rozdestventsky, performed by Troshin, 1.34 minutes, bitrate 320 kbit/sec, 3.7 Mb);
  • part of the Russian anthem “Bozhe, tsarya khrani” (“God Save the King”) (performed by the St. Petersburgh Navy Orchestra under A.Karabanov, recording of 2005, 1.29 min, bitrate 320 kbit/sec, 3.42 Mb).

As you can see we have tried to satisfy preferences of all types of the potential audience :)

I doubt that music score can satisfy any audience.
