Custom Screen resolutions in A-10

I understand by reading the forums that in BS this was possible by editing the options.lua file. If the options.lua file doesn't exists in A-10 can it be created? and if so, where should it go? can someone post a sample one so I can test? I don't have Black Shark! but I would like to enable a custom res. 1280x720 in A-10..

Just go to options in game and manually enter the desired resolution. It will edit the lua automatically.

unfortunately this did not work for me. i cannot change 768 to 720. i only got 1280x7208 do i have to deal with aspect ratio in addition? any idea what went wrong?
