jaTillApan Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Which files should I backup when re-installing Black Shark so I can keep my mission progress and key bindings? I'm updating to 1.0.2 and haven't found any info of how to keep my progress. Thanks in advance!
Panzertard Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) CB is going 7..... Hm, mission progress is a bit worse, not sure where those are stored. EDIT: Any of these location, perhaps: Procedure: Backup \Config\Input\Aircrafts Remove from backup you took: aircraftNames.lua Any default.lua you find in the subfolders. [*]Uninstall DCS [*]Check if you have files here - if so, remove them: C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 [*]install 1.0 [*]install 1.0.2 [*]Copy your backup of \Aircrafts back. Replace all. Note: Important that you DID remove the files in the backup-step. [*]Start DCS 1.0.2 in MP or fly a SP Mission - it will ASK for activation - but it will NOT spend any activations. jaTillApan Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Thanks for the quick reply, but none of it seems to work for me. There is nothing in my ..\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ folder. Nothing hidden or anything. I'm running Vista 64, if that changes anything. So what I've done so far is that I took backups of pretty much everything in my Black Shark folder. Uninstalled the game from the control panel. Re-installed it from my disc. Patched with 1.0.2 Using my backed up \Config\Input\Aircrafts folder don't bring back my key bindings. But that's the smallest problem. I want my mission progress back! Someone suggested to copy this file ..\BlackShark\data\scripts\Logbook\Players.lua. But that just brings back my logbook storing kills, deaths and stuff like that. All my campaigns are still "Inactive". Any other suggestions?
jaTillApan Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 After finding a second aircraft folder in the backup-folder ..\Backup\config\input\aircrafts and replacing that one with my backup of the backup folder, I got my key bindings back! To clarify, there is two different aircraft folders. ..\Backup\config\input\aircrafts ..\Config\Input\Aircrafts I replaced both and got it to work. But I still have the problem with the lost mission progress...
