Just bought the beta (I think). When I was at the sagepay site, after clicking "proceed" to "complete your payment" the site timed out and never returned.

I assumed it worked because I found I could download the 4 files, install them OK (apparently), and the introductory screen seemed OK.

However, any attempt to fly the jet gave me an error (Capture.thumb.PNG.781762c938552f2fca4d9fac5dffe3c5.PNG.

Re-downloaded and re-installed, neither 32bit or 64bit worked (I'm running Win 7 Professional 64bit). I'm beginning to think I need a serial number (but see no place where I could have entered it.)

Any help from anyone welcome.

I received a confirmation e-mail after i'd paid for the pre-release. The e-mail included a product code to be entered after installation.

If you post up your system specs it might shed some light as to the error your getting as the installation for me was painless and easily understandable. I suspect there may be another issue

The error is not related to Serial number, but when you need to look it up you can go here: Activation & Finding the Serialnumber

Also, if you register for the Beta Forum - you'll find people and posts which can assist you with the error over there.

Thank you for the reply....

The problem is -- the example implies that the "payments" link on the left provides useful information. All I get is:

Orders history

No information or you have not bought any product yet.

I do have a "Transaction Reference" which I saved from the site before it timed out (is that the same as an "order ID"?) and, although I too may be confusing the "order ID" with the "serial number" it is not yet clear to me what use is to be made of either.

I called Visa and they say a $59.99 debit has not yet been made to my account, but I'm thinking an overseas transaction may take a while before it shows up and I'm a little concerned about accidentally buying it twice.

I guess the real question is whether the fact that I was able to download it prove that I actually bought it. Yes or No?

The fact that it won't run is I assume an unrelated issue which I'm sure will soon be resolved.

As an old hardcore Falcon 4 fanatic, I'm hoping running this sim won't be as complicated as buying it. ;)

Thanks again, everyone.

Seems pretty clear that your order did not go through when you timed out. If it did you would see the information of your purchase instantly.

Everyone can download the betas, but you can only play it if you bought it.

Certainly sounds like you have not gotten through with the purchase.

As for download, you can still download it - but you wont be able to get into the Sim-world until the Serial-dialog box appears.

But you can install and start the DCS main menu - as well as edit missions.

But SP / MP simulation will be disabled until Serialnumber-registration has completed by you.

If you wish to contact support regarding purchase - to confirm wether it has been registered as a purchase in their system:

Sticky: How to contact Support

As for the error, the DCS FAQ's / OFrums list such as:

- Install using an admin.

- Start the game using an admin.

How & what workarounds to test ... & much more in the Beta-forums. You need to get access, aka have a license and the purchase sorted first.

I hope you understand. Thanks.

Well, I have assumed the first attempt to buy the beta did not go thru, so I did it again and got the expected email, serial number, access to beta forum, etc. Things were looking up...

However, it is not clear to me what I'm supposed to do with the serial number. I get no "serial-dialog box" and there are no prompts for it when I invoke the program and none of the options I have before it stops me with the above error code give me an opportunity to enter any serial number or validation code. Perhaps it asks later in the sequence (after I'm getting the error code?)

Interestingly, I do get a prompt for the serial number with the Multiplayer .exe and it seems to accept it OK.

Are all downloads identical or do I need to go back and download again -- perhaps my matching serial number is encoded in a unique download that I get only after buying the package?

In any case, still get the error indication shown in the first post. Have downloaded several times, have installed and run both 64bit and 32bit .exe's as administrator several times, have restored my system to a previous time (and previous dx) etc., etc. but still no joy. I'm encouraged that I'm seeing several others who are seeing the same error indication as I, but haven't yet seen any reliable fixes...

Will pursue this in the focused beta support fora but just wondering if there is something obvious here that I'm missing.

Thats the one. You're in.

Now I'll come back to you with some more tips and assist you a bit, give me a few moments.

No need to redownload now that you have downloaded it already.

Thanks for your time Panzertard. As luck would have it, I experimented some more and, for some reason, without changing anything, it now seems to work in all modes.

If I can re-create the problem, I'll post again -- although I have been running the program in administrator mode, there may be an issue running from the shortcut on the desktop vs. "All Programs>Eagle Dynamics>etc.>etc. Not sure of that, tho.

Again, thanks for the kind expenditure of time -- although I'm sure I'll be back. :)

Glad to hear

I hope we don't hear more from you - it would mean it works perfectly for you, hehe.
