I am using Windows XT [2Ghz CPU plust 1G DRAM] plust ATI 9600XT. However, the graphics card keeps reseting when I ran Flaming Cliffs training sessions. Does anyone have any idea what graphics cards can handle Flaming Cliffs stably ?

Ok I am sorry. Not PC resetting.

Basically two problems:

1. The computer would complain that the graphics card did not respond to the driver commands and then reset the graphics driver. The symton is that the monitor would lost signal for a second or two before recovering. But before soon, the same thing would occur again. This has happened in both training mode (e.g. Su-25T unguided bombs) and some of the replays that comes with CF. I tried adjusting the some of the graphics features to medium/low from high/medium but the problem did not go away. So I am just wondering whether this is a graphics card bug or CF bug. If this is a graphics card bug, what graphics card should I use ?

2. Sometimes when the game returns from a replay or training, the game just does not respond to the mouse click anymore. For example, if I clicked on some of buttons (e.g. exit), the game just does not respond or go to a different screen. I still see the same screen. I have to reboot the machine to regain control. Is this a know problem ?

What Catalysts are you using? I'm using a Radeon 9700 Pro and Catalyst 5.5 (or whatever they're up to now), and that's an older card then the 9600, if I'm not mistaken. Still no such problem. My firsthand advice would be to uninstall the ATI-drivers throughly, taking care to delete any remaining files, or send them to the garbage bin. From then on, follow ATI's installation instructions and see if that takes care of it.

You have enough hardware to run LOMAC. The CPU will keep some in-game settings down, but the Vcard is plenty. This is not a 'lack of Vcard" issue. (maybe a broken Vcard, but a 9600XT is fine for LOMAC). If the hardware is otherwise healthy it is, very likely, Not a hardware issue.

Your second problem is exactly what I had at one point and very related to the troubleshoot we have going on over here:

I fixed this on my rig, but I’m really hoping we can come up with something much simpler than what I had to go through . . . but nothing easy or universal is turning up yet. There’s several intermediate things to try before resorting to the thermonuclear option that finally worked for me. What’s that? . . . Come on over.

Check if your VPU recover is enabled...if it is DISABLE IT

The same problem u have now happened to me on my old card (now I have 9600 XT just like u) so try disabling VPU recover and post here what catalyst version of drivers r u using. (u can check that out like this...right click on your desktop click properties tab settings, click advanced...in there ull see loads of tabs, click on the one called VPU RECOVER.....in there uncheck the box and press apply...to see your driver version tab is called OPTIONS, cleck there and see what catalyst version r u runnin). At this moment I run v5.1 Omega coz I was trying to resolve some other issue but the drivers are alright....tested normal catalyst 5.1 and 5.2 they work as good. Dont go for the latest catalyst v5.5, they screwed up my game graphics for some reason.

I have solved the problem (ATI 9600XT)

I set the LOC game graphics to be 'medium'. Then I set the 3D acceleration performance of the ATI driver to be the lowest (It's a balance of performance and quality). The problem has now gone away! The graphics still looks good!
