I've just uploaded 8 of my "Border Patrol" missions to the "user files" section. The series of missions are designed to be played in order as the story continues from one to the next and there is also generally continuiity in unit designations etc.

I've tried to include decent route plans and photographs with each mission briefing. The missions themselves tend to involve a load of ground objects, with the intention of giving the player a feeling of being involved in an actual campaign rather than a more sterile feeling of being in the only mission going on.

This has, however, lead to the general unit count being very high, especially in the later missions. I've found that this does effect the frame rate I get - in mission 8 look at the flight of Ka-50s on their CAS mission. When they fly away from their FARP I get in the region of 10 fps. For reference I'm using a Phenom 2 quad core Black Edition @ 3.4 GHz, 4 GB of 1300Mhz RAM and a Radeon 5880 displaying at 1680x1050 with AA set to off.

I'd like some constructive criticism of this series of missions if possible. If you have any comments about what I could have done better, or something that could have been streamlined, then I'd love to hear it. As a side note, I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with any existing mods, but if there are any please let me know so I can iron out the issues.

As a bit of an easter egg - in mission 3, watch the tank at the start. This will give you a good idea of what mission 4 is all about.

The other thing I'd like to know is for future mission, what would you like to fly? Currently all the Russian aircraft are represented apart from the MiG-29A and Su-25.

Plans for future missions? I'm thinking of introducing a NATO task-force in later missions and possibly offering two copies of each mission - one playable as the pilot of a US aircraft and one from the opposite Russian perspective. Good idea? Bad Idea?

Finally, at the moment I've posted the missions as a series rather than linking them in a campaign. The reason I did it this way is that I'm guessing that some players only like to do A-A missions while others prefer A-G missions. This way no one is forced to fly an aircraft they don't enjoy just for the sake of progressing to the next stage. If however people think it would be a good idea then I'll build the missions in to a campaign and post that as well.

Again, please feel free to comment, query or question.
