Hi all!

As I have leaved Lock On and Black Shark for a time flying Falcon 4.0 AF/Free Falcon I am now trying to get back into Lock On and Black Shark again for some variety! :)

I have purchased the A10C but the beta version runs like a slideshow on my aging 2.7GHZ Dual Core. Hence why I am trying to get some air time in LOFC2.0.

Hom ever, I struggle to keep the A-10A in level flight. I know you can use the altitude stabilize button (ALT+H or just "H" cant't remember now) but even with trim I either pitching a little down or up. That's very annoying and I can't even remember this was a problem with the old LOFC 1.12 patch. This kills the fun for me because I use more time to keep the bird in level flight than actually searching for foes. I know I can use the hold altitude but I find it annoying to turn it off/on every time dive or evade etc. I also use Saitek X52 and I have no trouble keeping any plane at level flight in X-Plane, Falcon, Black Shark or any other sim. Anyone else that have this issue? In the F-15C it keeps level automatically if I remember right. If the trim applied was half of what it is today, the problem would have been solved. Is there a config edit to how much trim is applied?

Anyway LOFC 2.0 and Black Shark is amazing sims. I am no trying to get into Black Shark after having the sim for over two years and it's a blast! Too many sims, too little time! :) So ED, don't rush A-10C! :megalol:

First off: try the release version of DCS:A-10C please. ;)

Secondly, trying to figure out what's happening to you is very hard without a track file. Please make a flight demonstrating the behaviour and, after ending the flight, select "save track" and upload the track flie.

I have bought the download version of A-10C, but my comp is miles away from running it more than 12-13 fps on average. I bought it to support you guys and when I can afford a new computer I can start study again! I have learned Falcon 4.0 AF pretty well and Lock On FC 2.0 is a nice break from Falcon which means I don't need to learn a lot just to fly and have some fun. Hom ever I find it a bit annoying that I can't achieve a steady altitude even with trim in the A-10A. I have actually read that the real A-10A is hard to hold altitude even with trim and therefore we have the altitude hold mode for that? I can try to post a track later today. I use the alt-hold mode a lot when flying straight and level and uncheck it when I am running in hot. I have a friend who is coming back to Lock On after 4 years of absence so I plan to make some nice missions for us. :)

I am also wondering if anyone else have the same problem? Can you hold a steady level flight with the same altitude with trim. I mean not trimming a lot, but trim "it in" and leave it and still hold the altitude?

My suspicion, check if you have other controllers connected that are stealing I/O time from your stick. One way is to disable other controllers/ usb device from device manager and other is to delete other devices from the flight controllers set-up panel within FC2 (which i personally find it unecessarily complicated and user unfriendly btw)

I have Microsoft Sidewinder Pro 2 connected and checked that none of the buttons or axis on the sidewinder stick is assigned in the control setup. I have not uninstalled the driver from windows to try that as it's time consuming and boring to install/uninstall every time. Hom ever I do not think that may causing my struggle to hold altitude. I have no problems with both sticks in IL-2, old Lock On, X-Plane 9, Falcon 4.0 AF etc. I have tried to enter a bigger deadzone but I assume there is something else causing it. If someone could lead me to a file I can alter trim values, like half en the amount of each step in trim and the problem would be solved that way...I also find it strange when I try to use my sidewinder stick in Lock On 2 that it's VERY sensitive. That was not the case with the old FC. I need to adjust curves A LOT to make it flyable and even then I find the stick to be too sensitive in Lock On 2. Strange thing, since in IL-2 1946 and Falcon + X-Plane the sidewinder stick rocks!

I am going to fraps a video with me talking about the problem while flying and post it on YouTube.

dont uninstall, just disable in the system device manager list those sidewinder controllers. I had funky control surfaces , like trembling up&down for example before i cleaned any other controller than my CH from the FC2 controls setup. I first discovered that it was a mess with my own sidewinder steering wheel - pedals when i just disabled them in the device manager (and everything returned to normal in FC2) you can re-enable anytime, disabling is only temporary, no need to install or uninstall drivers

Ok, I will try to disable my sidewinder stick in device manager. Anyway, here is a video I made. Unfortunately, I can't fraps at the highest resolution so it may be a little difficult to see the hud in this video.

oh i thought you have more than one game controllers installed. What i said applies only in cases of multiple game gontrollers existing in the same system. So you just have only the Sidewinder Pro stick, right?

The video seems pretty smooth ... being ignorant here where to look to notice the struggle to keep the flight level

Try also maybe what EtheralN suggested, upload a track file for the experts here

Its strange that trim would need to be altered THAT much only in FC2

I have Microsoft Sidewinder Pro 2 Fore Feedback, Saitek X52, Saitek throttle and Saitek Quandrant throttle. I tried your tip to disable the sidewinder stick but no joy.

I am not sure if I ask for the impossible or if it´s modeled in the sim that it IS hard to keep a 100% level flight even with trim just like in the real thing. (I read that in A-10A book once).

I can try to post a track later. I can "fix" the problem by using "alt hold" command with "H" button when I fly straight and level and disengage it when I am turning etc. I am just curios if there is someone else that can achieve 100% altitude (that means keep the height number in the HUD on ie. 1000f for instance) with just using trim and not alt-h. Or if there is place I can alter how much impact each trim "button" does. I want it half en! :)

tried the opposite? disable everything saitek related and use the sidewinder in FC2. just a thought
