Volume Volume vs. Peak Volume & other options/control trivia

Neither of these is a way--in flight--to control volume of sim itself...I suppose (?)

[This is coming from someone who thought you were supposed to let out a flare at the end of the runway just before landing...did this for a year in F4, literally...couldn't figure out why, though...]

Of Course, there's also...

Land GEAR vs. Gear up/down

(I'm lost on that one.)

Months ago, I got confused by "take off trim" assuming the former was a verb not a substantive adjective (which ought to be one compound word--no?)

Then there's HUD color --which I assume is the intensity (brightness) of color as in the switch located on UFC? --haven't really gotten that one to function. --Night/Day seems to offer the only other color option for me.

I'm left to guess that the termCommunication menu has nothing to do with communicating with what is accessible via mic switches ...I've assigned a key, but it's significance remains a mystery... can't find it in the manual :book:

Anyway... Help, as always, would be greatly appreciated.

So you thought it meant to take the trim off, so to speak? I love it when those things happen!

The only thing I can offer is HUD intensity. I don't know what the HUD Color is, but brightness is adjusted using the left/right rocker labeled INTEN on the UFC. I was flying for weeks not knowing what that meant!

I think the "Volume" and "Peak Volume" knobs in the cockpit are to control how loud the stall warning horn is. I'm not sure which one is for which, though. I shall have to check it out after work! :book:

The "Communications Menu" key is only used in "Easy Communications" mode. If you're using realistic comms (i.e. haven't checked Easy Comms in the options and you use the mic switch to talk on the different radios) then the communications key doesn't do anything. You'd use the mic switch instead.

Now I'm really not sure what the "Land GEAR" key is for... Landing gear up/down is to raise and lower the landing gear (wheels). Looks like there's a command for up, another for down, and a third key that is a toggle.

Hope some of this helps!
