Marmusman Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I got FreeTrack to work in Beta 4 via a little fix found on the FreeTrack website. This fix does not appear to work on the Final Release version of A-10C. Has anybody else tried this? Thanks.
Le0kong Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The last TrackIRFixer work only with the 32bits of DCS. Here is the link: http://naturalpointofview.blogspot.com/p/trackirfixer.html You need to apply the fixer into the x86 folder, '\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\bin\x86'. And play through the 'DCS A-10C_x86' shortcut. To use FreeTrack with the 64bits DCS i think you need to use PPJoy, but i never tried that. Marmusman Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Yes, that is the one I have. It worked for Beta 4. But does not work with final release of A-10C ( at least, it doesn't work on my machine. Yes, my machine/game is 32 bit)
26-J39 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Freetrk works fine for me, beta's and final.. Using PPJoy.
Marmusman Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 I did not need ppjoy for beta 4. Anybody else have issues with the freetrack fix on a 32 bit install?
Le0kong Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Which part don't work? Can you at least apply the patch on the 'newinput.dll' or are you getting a error message? Marmusman Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Which part don't work? Can you at least apply the patch on the 'newinput.dll' or are you getting a error message? Le0kong, As I was writing up a response to explain my errors, I realized that they didn't make much sense. I had an error while trying to get into the tutorial. then I could get into the cockpit to fly "instant action" but the screen was looking down to the right in the cockpit. The errors may not have been related to the newinput.dll file. So I went and reinstalled the fix and FreeTrack now works. Or at least worked. I was able to get into the "instant action" game and freetrack worked. But then went into the tutorial for aircraft startup and got errors. So who knows if it was the game or freetrack or what. I seem to get bazaar errors every once in a while even before the freetrack patch. Though the tutorial thing happened two or three times. In general the game has been buggy on my computer....maybe because the game is pushing the limits of my computer. Thanks for your input. So to all....I'd say that the latest FreeTrack fix for 32-bit A-10C works.
Le0kong Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 These errors don't seem like they are from the TIRFixer. Since you are on a 32bits Windows, have you tried the fixes on Nate signature: Crashes, Glitches in a 32bit OS? (Applies even if you only have 2gb.) Win 7 \ Vista 32Bit 3GB Hack http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...20&postcount=8 XP 32 Bit /3GB Switch http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1092529&postcount=38 Normally they don't give these errors you mentioned, but it's worth trying i guess.
