Hi all! I'm so proud to have bought DCS A-10C today

I've tried to do some fly for the first time, but I needed to assign some button of my Saitek ST-290 joystick, in controls, options.

I changed Throttle, Zoom in, Zoom out, Center camera, then everytime I press "ok" after some changes, I listen a windows error.

Watching the desktop via Alt+Tab I can see this error:

I can't save any new settings! Someone can help me?

Did you patch DCS yet? By the way- my recommendation is that you do not use DCS to program your buttons- only the axis. Use SST for your buttons.

Yes! I've downloaded DCS A-10C today and it was already patched to 1.1.0.6

Sorry my noobness but, I don't know what is "SST" ^^ And, if I change only the axis in options I got that problem too

Alright. Test this:

Go to controls page:

testing%20save%20function.jpg

Now- make sure your pull down menus match mine (Sim/ axis)

Click one of the lines UNDER YOUR STICK's column- even if it's empty. This should "light up" the top of the column where your stick's name is.--- It is there right? Take a screenshot plz so we can see what is listed.

Then click on "clear category" and confirm.

Although I doubt this matters- do it anyway- Exit and come back to the page.

Select the same things- but go ahead and map out the PITCH, ROLL, RUDDER, & THROTTLE BOTH to your controller.

Click OK to save and tell us what happens.

Thats the same error I got, game was working, then all of a sudden the game crashed a few days ago and when I retsrated it and tried to map new commands, that error popup came up.

The only way around it I found was to reinstall the game.

When assigning new commands, use CLEAR first and then ADD, dont just double click on a command, as I find if you do that the game usually crashes.

Maybe, I have no idea if different sticks cause the game different problems, I am as stumped as you are in that regard.

I just found that everytime I tried to map a key, I would hear DUH, the error sound and the game would minimise to that popup in the OP's post, whatever I tried it wouldnt let me map a single key :(

Hopefully he can work it out without having to reinstall.

Thanks for help! But I've tried to clear category too before to map joystick buttons, and I got the error!

Also, I've REINSTALLED the game but the problem is still here.

I've maked a video of the problem. I will upload it soon.

I bumped into this problem too, here's a thread about it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69180

tl;dr there's something wrong with exporting to text.

OMG THAAAAANKS!!!!!! :megalol:

I've solved the problem by removing the entire "DCS Warthog" folder from C:\Users\Mark\Saved Games then remapping all controls and all was ok! :megalol:

Thanks too! See you in the sky!
