Saitek X-65F Help

Greetings,

 

I originally posted in the wrong forum (DCS: A10). I just got Lock On Platinum and the X-65F. Should I be assigning the controller buttons in the Saitek software, or in game? The .pr0 files are for the Saitek software, and .lua for the game, correct? I've searched and found a bunch of controller related files (.pr0, .lua, .jpg's, and .pdf's, etc...) but must confess to information overload.
