LeadTurn_SD Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Greetings! Just getting started using the mission editor, and apologies if this has already been asked and answered: Can a "warm ramp start" be created using the "Prepare Mission" function in the mission editor? What I want to do for some missions is to start the player on the ramp, but with engines running and avionics all "up", and the A-10 ready for taxi. Has anyone had luck with this (more apologies, I tried it last night but apparently did something wrong and it did not work for me)??? Thanks, and Best Wishes. LeadTurn_SD
Invisibull Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Just select "start on runway" and they will be pre-started waiting on ramp. i9 9900k - GTX 2080 Ti - MSI Z87 GD65 Mobo - 64GB HyperX Predator RGB DDR4 3200MHz - Win10 64 bit - TM Warthog w FSSB R3 mod - TrackIr 5.
LeadTurn_SD Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Just select "start on runway" and they will be pre-started waiting on ramp. Thanks, but "start on runway" always results in starting on the runway ready for takeoff, unless I missed something. What I'm looking for is starting on the ramp, parked, just like with a "cold" start on the ramp, but I want the engines running and all systems "up", ready for taxi. Sort of like in Falcon 4, you can start: "Takeoff", "taxi", or "ramp start". "Ramp start" in both DCS A-10C and Falcon 4 is by default a "cold" start, I'm looking for a "warm" start. I'm trying to set up missions where the A-10's are ready to taxi, engines running, but still on the ramp. Best wishes. Edited March 23, 2011 by LeadTurn_SD
Invisibull Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Ok, you're making a single player mission then. Afaik, you can't do that in single player missions, but i might be wrong as i don't generally make anything but mp missions. You need to select "client" from the drop down menu, and run it on the server in order to get what you're looking for. Hope I've helped a bit. i9 9900k - GTX 2080 Ti - MSI Z87 GD65 Mobo - 64GB HyperX Predator RGB DDR4 3200MHz - Win10 64 bit - TM Warthog w FSSB R3 mod - TrackIr 5.
LeadTurn_SD Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks Invisibull, you have helped. I had only been testing it in single player missions, and just assumed it would be the same for multiplayer missions... I talked with one of my squad mates, and he explained exactly the same thing that you just did: For multiplayer, "Runway" starts actually place the player on the ramp engine running (I have still not flown online yet in DCS A-10C). I'll keep trying with single player, and if I figure out what I'm doing wrong, I'll post the "correct" procedure.... it is not really that big a deal either way, just was curious if it could be done. Thanks again, and Best Wishes.
