Black screen after .17 patch

When game starts, I get a black screen with windows 'thinking' icon. This screen can last over few minutes. Same deal when a start mission. Sim switches to desktop, I get a black screen with icon for sometime, and then sim switches to loading screen. Also I get that during end mission - black screen for few minutes.

 

During black screen, 'launcher.exe' showing that it's growing slowly. from 300mb to 450-500.

 

 

Anyone know what causes this and how to repair?

 

I've reinstalled A10C with latest base install and added .17 patch. '

Edit, also mission editor is having horrible lag. Almost to unusable level.

Just general troubleshooting, I would have suspected disk-related issues, like:

- Drivers for mainboard (storage drivers & interface drivers)

- Drivers for Graphics adapter.

- Possibly very full disks, either system-disk is almost or game-disk.

- Possibly minor data/index problems with any of the disks. Run CHKDSK C: /f and CHKDSK D: /F etc.

- Disconnect all USB devices, may cause the USB bus to go into overdrive for some devices.

Thats where I would have started.

 

- Then I would have tried resetting BIOS to defaults, ensuring I didnt use any O/C.

- Ensuring that other relevant drivers were up to date.

 

If problem persist, please attach info about:

- DxDiag repot (attachment)

- Which missions where you can produce it.

- At what settings you can produce it (screenshots of ingame settings)

Found that by disabling anti-virus (Kasperski) game no longer shows that black screen (black screen now shows only for few seconds, not minutes) and mission editor is usable.

Odd....but a work around.
