Just a few questions I was hoping someone could answer.

  1. Is there a way to "re-center" the HUD? At times it seems too far left, or right, mostly the pitch ladder.
  2. When zooming in on the HUD the display seems to zoom in as well and I can't see all of the components. Can this be reset or am I zooming in too far?
  3. Sometimes during a mission I'll see in the HUD near the bottom, the word NOTE blinking. How do I address that?

Thanks,

JT

No, as said above, it is normal with wind and cannot be turned off.

When zooming in on the HUD the display seems to zoom in as well and I can't see all of the components. Can this be reset or am I zooming in too far?

You mean you're pulling your head back or have pulled your head back and cannot see all the components - this is normal because the HUD display must remain focused at infinity, so no matter how you move your head, all the HUD symbology should always remain at the same size. If you move your head 'back', the HUD glass becomes smaller in your view, while the HUD symbology stays the same side, and thus the glass cannot contain all the symbology.

If you are ZOOMING, that is a different thing and you lose symbology because your field of view cannot contain it.

Expanding a bit, one common reason to get the "note" indication in the HUD is because your Maverick's have been running (EO ON) in excess of 30 minutes (check your EO time in the bottom right-hand corner of the MAV page on the MFCD).

You will also get text messages (MSG). For more information on messages and how to view them, check out the flight manual (.PDF), which is in the folder

\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\???\Docs\DCS-A-10C_Flight_Manual_EN.pdf

Look at (approximately, possibly different depending upon your version of the manual) p.353, the "Message (MSG) Page" section.
