Teriander Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Ok, Please tell me if Im missing any steps. (p.s. I didn't complete the landing tutorial because Im using Easy Communications and that kind of threw it off) 1. I radioed the tower and set "Inbound" 2. Set my Nav > Divert > Selected correct airfield > Observed ILS info. 3. Entered the ILS info into the ILS correct (ping was heard) 4. Enabled "ILS" directly in front of the cockpit joystick 5. Got landing clearance. What do I need to do at this point to get the ILS to display in my HUD? After flaps, gear and successful landing.. 6.Landed successfully then parked, refueled, and rearmed. What do I need to do to get my CICU to reset the weapon loadout without having to turn it off and turn it back on, then "LOAD" again? Any other tips or something Im missing when doing a quick landing to rearm and take off again would be great!
ttaylor0024 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 To display the bars, there is a switch behind the joystick with (Able/Stow) I believe. Press that. To get to the load screen, hold the DSMS button (or any other on the bottom row), press load, then load all.
nomdeplume Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 You won't get ILS bars on the HUD, just not something the jet does. The able/stow switch will show them on the ADI. To clarify ttaylor's instructions, if you hold one of the OSBs on the bottom row (except the rightmost one, used for declutter/ack) you'll get a list of all the possible display pages down the sides of the MFCD. If you press one of the side OSBs, the associated display mode will be highlighted. If you then press one of the bottom OSBs, you'll replace whichever display was at that bottom position with the one you just highlighted. With this system you can customise which pages are shown on the MFCDs. So... with all that - you can get the 'load' screen to show along the bottom, allowing you to select it as the active page without having to restart the CICU. Once selected, you can just use 'LOAD DSMS' to re-load the DSMS configuration from the cartridge, which will have been magically updated when you asked for the new loadout. Alternatively, you can go through the DSMS inventory pages and manually configure each store as appropriate. I wouldn't do that as my standard procedure after rearming, but it's useful to go through it once or twice so you can see how the system works.
