How come prior to 1.1.0.8, I could see the heat blur when on the ramp (external view). Now I can't see it; I do have Textures high, Shadows high, but Scenes low. I must be doing something wrong, or this is a new thing from the patch.

Hmm, haven't notice this yet, probably because I have only had about an hour or so to mess around since the patch came out(and boy I'm starting to get the shakes!). :( But I would think that you should still see some heat exhaust even at idle?

That's what I figured too, and in fact it was visible at engine idle in 1.1.0.7. Now it only shows up if I advance the throttle past idle. Personally, I liked the way it was before. But beggars can't be choosers!

The issue with exhaust heat at idle is a bit of a mixed bag - remember that this is a high-bypass engine so only very little of the air being exhausted has actually been heated. My understanding is that whether you'd see it IRL would depend on perspective and atmospheric conditions, but AFAIK the engine doesn't allow those things to be taken into account.

Also, I don't mind it's removal anyhow - it's an effect removed in MP for the people who are AFKing on the ramp for 20 minutes. :P
