Well i´m not sure that this thing i report it´s a bug or not. I´m sure this is a TREMENDOUS BUG but, you know give the first chance at ED to answer.

In 1.02 Hawk SAM systems for example had a minimun altitude range of 50 meters and 3000 meters range all over the center of the search radar. When you fly below 50 meters or you are inside 3000 meters radious of the search radar, YOU ARE SAFE. The Hawk can´t lock you neither launch you anything.

When i tried this in a mission with 1.1, what a surprise¡¡

Not only the 3000 meters minimum range had dissapear, but Hawks and Patriot systems can lauch below 50 meters and achive solid lock inclusive at 25 meters.

This is very frustrating because inside the encyclopedia the characteristics of both SAM systems said that 3000 meters and 60 meters are the minimum launch parameters.

I have shoots with Hawk missiles flying below 30 meters and hiting me inside 3000 meters range, one and another time. I can fly below 50 meters without altitude hold with precision, and if this is not a bug what is happening with it?.

Thanks for any reply.

The encyclopeaedia has been out of date for a while now.

Being that close and that low isn't a problem for getting a lock on your aircraft - the issue would more likely be with the missile's fuze.

But as missiles become more modern, their minimum engagement range shrinks ... a lot.

Thanks for the reply GG.

If i understand you well, this SAM sites, specially Patriot and Hawk´s in 1.1 have been modernized in his lock and minimum launch parameters, been able to launch missiles below 50 meters and inside 3000 meters radius from they main search radar?.

Well i think this is great if the parameters inside 1.1 are realistic and adjusted to the real enviroment of this SAM sites. If the problem present here is the data encyclopedia i think it´s quite symple to arrange, but don´t forget, ED developers check all the encyclopedia data, adjusting issues not accurated.

Fuzes?? Well the missiles launched at me from a Hawk or Patriot site below 25 meters impacting dritectly in my MIG was´nt a fuze. The missile flied straight in front on me and achiving a direct hit.

But you know if this " bug " is only the real behaviour of HAwk and Patriot in a modern enviroment ihave no choice. Improving my flight qualitys is the only way to survive.

Thanks GG for your quick reply.

Don'tg et me wrong, we're still checking it out :)

There are reasons why big SAMs are complemented by smaller ones :)

Also keep in mind that these SAMs are meant to destroy incoming cruise missiles which fly pretty low.

Well i´m sure my Mig29 looks so beautiful in an Autumm afternoon flying directly towards a Hawk site but looking like a cruise missile, well i´m not slim enough neither my Mig.

Totally out of my mind getting you wrong GG, I apreciatted very much the ED efforts, often the best solutions are in the little things like reading the manual or making a correct data list encyclopedia.

Well this is the exact reason of my complain. If this SAM sites have minimun parameters , well i want it in 1.1. There is no reason for Super-Hawks or Super-Patriots and i think it´s excesive flying below 25 meters to avoid this missiles.

My next step.... looking for information about launch enviroment of the most recently SAM Hawk and Patriot. Only one thing, LOMAC don´t supossed to use early 90´s in his time operations theater?.

Nevermind, GG my questions are answered, but any reply will be apreciatted.
